BRIEF HISTORY OF IJU ANGLICAN YOUTH FELLOWSHIP FROM 1996 TILL DATE
The Iju Archdeaconry Youth Fellowship started in September 1996 with the first Fellowship that was held at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Moferere Street, Iju. Our Fellowship day was every Thursday by 5:00pm and the Fellowship led for more than a year by the pioneer Chaplain, the Rev. Samuel Ayotola Odubena (now Venerable).
There was a qualterly programme held in the Fellowship, that was targed “Victory Night” which comes up every three months. The first edition was held at St. Matthew’s Church in December 1996 with the theme “Power as of old” and the minister was the Rev. Canon F. O. Bankole (now Dean of The Cathedral of Ekiti Diocese Ado Ekiti).
The Archdeacon was the Ven. A. A. Adenibuyan (now retired) the Rev. T. O. Akinboro (now Ven.) was the Vicar of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Iju. The Rev. Sam Odubena left Iju in the year 1997 and chose the first set of Executives and they were:

Mr. Caleb Olowojola General Secretary
Mrs. Bidemi John (Nee Owoseni) Treasurer
Mr. Awotiku Financial Secretary
Mrs. Semola Olaleye (Nee Asebiere) Evangelist Secretary
Mrs. Titi Afolaabi (Nee Akomolafe) Prayer Card
Mr. Kunle Olaleye Assitance Music Card
Mrs. Funke Owa (Nee Kayode) Assistance Gen. Secrtary
Mr. Abiodun Akintoye (now Rev.) P.R.O.

In 1997 after the selction of the above names,the fellowship started officially as Iju Archdeaconry Anglican Youth Forum.
During their tenure the Lord brought revival to Anglican church in Iju and the neighbouring town (Itaogboolu).Through their zeal,love,committment and faith in God they were able to conquered the land of Iju for christ through special programs organised by the youth then.such as;prayer retreat,revival and weekly fellowship.
Moreover,their fervency in chtist then leads to concilation of masqurade in Iju for some time because the youth then does not have time for those idols but zealous about God's work.Another program done by this generation was having prayer meeting every sunday morning by 7am before the main service comences.
The second generation of executives was selected by the outgoing executives in the year 1999 and some of them were:

Ohunakin Akintunde - Prayer Coordinator
Apanisile Bose - Sister Coordinator
Akintoye Abiodun (now Rev.) - Brother Coordinator

Oyeyemi Ebunoluwa - Treasurer
And others
In the year 2000 the Fellowship was decentralised due to the priest in Charge of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church and it was settled by the Archdeacon, the Ven. E. O. Akosile that each Church should have her own Fellowship and that was how the St. Stephen’s Youth moved back to their Church, but St. Matthew’s Youth could not stand because of lack of coordination.
In the year 2001 another set of executive were chosen by election led by then Chaplain, the Rev. C. O. Osiyemi (now Ven.) and the president was Brother Ohunakin Akintunde. By the grace of God, this president helped St. Matthew’s Youth Fellowship back on their feet with Brother Damilare Ajayi and Brother Tosin Adegoke.
In the year 2003, we had another set of executives led by Brother E. O. Olaleye (now Rev.). Brother Dele Fasan – P.R.O., Brother Banji Fagborila (now Pastor) – Prayer Coordinator, Sister Yemi Adebobola, Brother Orimaye Sola, and others.
In 2008 -2011 we have

In August (2009),the Archdeaconry youth had youth convention with the theme:'THE YOUTH OF OUR CHURCH' it was hosted at St. Stephen's Ang.Church under the leadership of Bro.Olaiya Banji(president),Ven.Bola Komolafe,then Revered(youth chaplian) and Ven.T.O Akinboro(Archdeacon).The program was first of its kind.
